I am using DiskInternals Linux Reader (and also tried HSFExplorer - same problem) and trying to copy data from a Mac formatted hard drive to my Windows 7 computer (using a hard drive enclosure to connect to Windows PC via USB port)
The Linux Reader software shows that the Mac formatted HD has 2 partitions, the Recovery is 600MB which I don't care, the main one is about 600GB (and my computer has more than 1TB available to use) but problem is that when I do the copying and exporting process (I select all folders and file and click Save) it took a while (couple hours) and told me that there is not enough space, I noticed that my local computer hard drive is already full and the copying/exporting perocess is only like 1/10 done, so the data in the Mac-formatted partition is somehow went up to more than 10TB ????
Could you please explain what happened and why the data becomes so big when it was being exported/extracted
How do I copy data to my local hard drive on my Windows PC?
I see people suggest using a Linux PC so I installed Ubuntu on a another PC and I see that Mac hard drive is here, how do I copy data from it to local UBuntu hard drive, the "Copy" and "Paste" from left mouse click will not work because some folders in the Mac Hard drive is protected (such as User folder), say I don't have permission to access, is there a Sudo command or something and copy everything???
