I recently purchased a MBP. I want to copy my Itunes from PC to mac and keep playlist, and song ratings.
I have read through the guides online and on Apples website, but can not get it to work right.
I copied the itunes folder but the playlist did not copy. They way it is setup on my PC is the music is in the music folder and not in the itunes folder, so I do not know if this is my problem. I did transfer entire music folder to external HDD and then to mac.
Anyone know what i am doing wrong or what i need to do to set it up correctly

sounds like you did everything right but may have skipped a step...

Make sure these options are checked on windows iTunes before you make a copy. This should put everything in the iTunes folder.
Open iTunes’ preferences (Edit -> Preferences) and click the Advanced tab. Check both Keep iTunes Media Folder Organized and Copy Files To iTunes Media Folder When Adding To Library. These settings will ensure that all your media files end up in the main iTunes Media folder, which you will later copy to your Mac.
