Hi there. I want to do a clean install but can't lose iWork because my install disks are currently in a different country. Is there a way to copy the software off my computer before the clean install?

Thanks for the help

No, you'll need to do the install. I don't believe dragging the programs from the application folder will be work. You can try it, I've been wrong before, but don't be surprised if it doesn't work.

Why not do an archive and install, this will preserve your apps.

The only way to know if it will work is to try it on another Mac. I know MS office can be copied to another HD and works fine so you might be lucky.

Problem solved. As mjsmke stated, this is easily testable.

After moving:

/Macintosh HD/Applications/iWork '08 (folder)
/Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/iWork '08 (folder)
/username/Library/Application Support/iWork (folder)

to another Mac, iWork would launch as a trial version and ask if you have a serial number. My serial number was found under "about Pages."
Enter it and all seems well.

Although I tested a different approach which I prefer. I found an iWork '08 trial version installer here:

Thanks to Yvan I just used the proper installer and after launching entered my serial number as mentioned above.

I am stoked
