Copy Music, iPod > iTunes

If I want to transfer music from an iPod to a new Mac computer, can I do this with iTunes? I can't seem to figure this out. I am fairly new to Mac.

I found a program called TouchCopy (not free) that claims to do this, but is is not cheap. Also found several others.

Best way to transfer music iPod > iTunes on a new Mac.

BTW, none of the music is protected stuff. Most of it came from Amazon.com which does not restrict use.
