Copy old applications only to new mini mac

I want to transfer only Word and Photoshop to the new computer.
Is there a way to do this without copying my whole harddrive onto the new computer??
I am using migration assistant and the firewire cable and the folks at the mac store said it could be done. (I no longer have the install codes)

Migration Assistant will let you pick what you want to have over. For example, the Applications folder.
