For reasons I can't understand, Leopard won't allow you to paste into the password field for WPA keys (or WEP). However, if you highlight the text from something else, like TextEdit or Data Guardian ... you can drag the text into it.
However, the same work around doesn't work for SSH password prompts. You can paste in your password or drag it in.
Now, before someone asks why I have a password on the clipboard ... well, I use Data Guardian to store passwords for the systems I have access to. When you have close to 300 different unique passwords you need a manager to deal with it. Copy and paste works great when people are looking over your shoulder. (Few people I work with have a nasty habit of this) If anyone knows a work around for this, it would be greatly appreciated.
At least I found a work around for the WPA key, I don't wanna type out a 40 character key ... its bad enough I had to do this with the iPhone
