Can anyone tell me how to copy some files from a CD to a new blank CD?
If I put the source CD in, select the files and copy them to the Burn Folder they appear as 'Alias'. If I then put the blank CD in and select Burn it fails and says it can't see the files.
I've read about Disk Utility being able to copy a complete CD to a new CD but that is not what I want to do; I want to burn only some of the files on the source CD to the new CD.
(iMac running Lion)

I am sure I am missing something quite basic but I guess I need someone to give me (or point me to) step by step.
Interestingly when I select Applications / Burn I get 'You can't open the application burn because PowerPC applications are no longer supported.'

think you'll have to load on desktop first then burn to disc if you haven't got an external cd drive to copy from

Sorted. I imported the files (photos) to iPhoto then exported them to the burn folder and could then burn the DVD. Don't know if that was how I should have done it but it worked.

I like the idea of Disk Utility but as far as I can see that is for only complete copies of a DVD or CD, not only some of the files on the source DVD / CD.

Haha, I was under the impression you said "some" just to be casual. But you're actually meaning "some".

I don't see anything difficult about this.

1. Put the source CD into the drive, let it mount on the desktop
2. Create a "New Burn Folder" on the desktop (give it any name you wish)
3. From the source CD, copy the folders/files you want into the new "burn" folder
4. When done, eject the source CD
5. Insert a blank CDR into the drive
6. Right-click on the burn folder, you should see the option to "Burn Disc".
7. Burn the contents of the folder to the new disc -- that should be it.

Thanks. That is rather like 'I imported the files (photos) to iPhoto then exported them to the burn folder and could then burn the DVD.'
I also have just set 'Secondary click' on our Magic mouse.
