Copy via UnisersalControl uses a lot of CPU power

I copied around 45GB from my M1 MacBook Air to the M1 Max Mac Studio. I used universal control to copy paste the folder.
While it was copying the CPU usage was a lot higher than I every assumed.
Is this normal?
