Copying a Time Machine Backup

Currently I am using a ForMac firewire external drive for all my backups but will be ordering a Time Capsule when they finally ship.

Question is how do I copy my existing Time Machine backup from my ForMac to the Time Capsule?

I have already tried coping the folder off the ForMac to my Desktop and I get some error message saying it can't be moved etc.

Any ideas?
