I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 6.1 (jailbroken) that I use as an iPod and I feel like it's getting to the end of its usefulness with a majority of the apps I like to use updated beyond my reach.

I have been using TextNow for several years now and have compiled a ton of texting threads that do not show up when I normally log in somewhere (like on my iPad when I download TextNow, for instance). I know this text thread data is not stored server-side and it is locally on my iPhone.

I have an .ipa of the same TextNow version for compatibility, and I was hoping to find a way, should I buy a new iDevice, to transfer all of that app data to the file tree under TextNow so that I might still see all of my texts and go on as if nothing has changed.

I have attempted to install the .ipa file onto my iPad (also running iOS 6.1) and the app opened successfully. I went into iFunBox and transferred all of the backed up TextNow files from my iPhone into their corresponding folders on the iPad. When I tried to fire up the app on the iPad, it would load the splash screen and immediately close out. Rebooting and clearing cache with iCleaner did not fix the issue.

Is there something more to be done when transferring data between one iDevice and another?
