can somebody please tell me how to copy and burn a CD/DVD so it is a replica of the original? Without having to select gap between songs etc. Some CDs have some songs with gaps and other songs without.

Not sure if you are going to get much help. This could be considered piracy and is illegal. Sorry.
Actually, it is not piracy and is not illegal. Making personal copies of media is explicitly defined as legal in the United States, and in all other countries I know of.
I suggest using Toast to duplicate the disk. Disk Utility may be able to do the same, but I don't use it so I can't remember.
