Got my optibay setup in and proceeded to transferring media from the mac mini.
Question is: say for example I have a torrent file with data sectors written at a hundred different locations on the drive and then i transfer/copy that file (among the thousands of files i transferred in a single drag/drop copy) _ as the progress bar indicates transferring one item at a time is the computer intelligent enough to write that scattered data as one continuous file on the copied version? if yes: sweet, if no: is there a way to do that, is it even worth worrying about and why not?
and regarding transfer speeds, I have the computers linked via a fw400 <-> fw800 cable and it's transferring maybe 50 GB/hour which sounds okay but in reality feels super slow, is that a typical connection speed and if not what might be slowing it down?
TIA
