hi, I am newbie with mac..

did anyone know how to copying file into the hard disc??
because when every times I plug in my hard disc is only "read only" and copy the file into my mac. If I want to arrange or drag some file inside I couldn't.

:D plz plzzzz help~~~~

How is the drive formatted? To find out, right-click on the drive and "Get Info".

GGJ is right...if your drive is formatted for instance in NTFS (Windows based format), then it will appear as read-only until you get some third part software like NTFS-3G which allows Mac to write to NTFS drives.

Likewise, for other partition types, that aren't native to Mac, you may need special software to write to them.

Do as GGJ said, and check the 'Get Info' by selecting the drive and pressing command+I, or right-clicking (ctrl+click) the drive and selecting 'Get Info' from the pop-up menu.
