I have a 2013 MBP Retina with SSD. After upgrading to Yosemite, I find copying files out of .dmg images (such as when copying new apps) very slow (relatively)

For instance, extracting PyCharm, which is about 350MB into my Applications dir showed up as taking 3 minutes!

Anyone else seen problems with this?

I was having really slow disk access on my boot drive after upgrading to Yosemite, especially copying files as with the Duplicate command. I fixed permissions with Disk Utility, did a PRAM reset, and performance is much-improved. I don't know exactly what fixed it, but you might try one or all of those things.
