Hi guys,

I have the current setup:

- Windows 7 laptop network cabled into the router with a USB 2.0 harddrive
- I can get over 10MB/s if I network cable another W7 laptop into the router and copy a file.
- Using the same laptop over Wifi to copy another file, I can get about 2.4MB/s
- HOWEVER if I use my Macbook Air over Wifi to copy the same file, it's only about 1.2MB/s

So what could be wrong?

What method are you using to copy the files from the cabled laptop to the MBA?

I believe Apple artificially reduce file copying speed as they are trying to move to a fileless ecosystem.

With my new MBA 2012, last time I tested I got around 7 MB/s (56 Mbps/s) download speed over WiFi downloading from a WHS NAS to my SSD. I use an AirPort Base Station from 2007 as a router.
