I have a number of DVDs that I have created using iDVD with DVD+R media. I have since read a number of reviews and reports, and I think I am going to switch everything over to Taiyo Yuden DVD-R media.

I plan to slowly send my DVD+R discs through Disk Utility and create images, then burn the image to the new DVD-R media. The DVD+R discs will all contain unencrypted video that was all authored through iDVD/iMovie.

Do you all forsee any problems here? I have read really good things about the compatibility of DVD-R and the longevity of the Taiyo media. If anyone has any thoughts, please chime in. As always, everyone's comments are greatly appreciated.

There is no need to make images with disk utility. If the DVDs are unencrypted you should be able to just copy them to your desktop and then burn them as a DVDROM with toast or something similar.:)

Follow-up

Thanks for the idea on duping the DVD. I will give that a try.

No need for anyone to comment on the quality of the Taiyo media. I found a current thread that contains that info.
