I have a MBP and an iMac that I download my email to through Mail. I am getting a new iMac Pro and want to copy all of my Mail and settings to the new iMac. This had me wondering. The Macbook Pro and iMac were bought and setup at different times, so presumably they have different emails downloaded into them, different sent mail, etc.

1. Without going through years of email, what is the best way to approach this to make sure I am copying the mail from one of the Macs that will result in the better archive?

2. Any general tips for what I am trying to do?

Thanks for any help.

Is this POP or IMAP ?

If POP, you can use "export "feature of Mail. Right click the main mailbox folder in the side bar. "Inbox" for instance,,, this will capture all sub-folders as well.

Choose "Export Mailbox"

After creation, copy the mail to usb drive, take it to another mac, and File > Import Mailboxes.

Not sure abut mail settings... you may have to re-create those.

You can also hold down Command and select all mailboxes or folders you want first.
