I try to copy 3000 files, 174MB total, form folder to folder with iMac 2009. Finder tell me it will take 2 hours to complete task!!??

I did such kind of task under Leopard/Snow Leopard and they done it quickly. Anyone knows how can I improve efficiency of moving multiple files under OSX Lion? Thanks in advance.

Maybe booting in Leopard or SL and give it try?
Using the terminal?

Are you copying them within the same HDD, is the drive OK?
Is the drive full? A lot of things still in the thrash?

Create a new user in Lion, and copy them through this new user's account.

Thanks for the helping hand.

They are in the same HD and it is working fine. 271GB is in used and 324GB is free space. Trash can is empty.

Actually, I'm copying facepack of Football Manager 2012. I had played this game for many years with different OSX version. Since I updated to Lion, adding pics of facepack become painful to me. I have no problem copying those files to a new folder but when I add more files into a existed folder which contains lots of files already, the whole process become very slow. It only done 54.7MB since I started copying files 30mins ago......
