When copying across a folder containing various files from my Mac book Pro to an external hard disk, half way through the operation a box comes up saying " The operation can't be completed because an item with the name XXXXXXXX already exsists".
However I can copy the same folder across from a PC to the same hard disk without any issue.

Can anyone help me reoslve this one ??

Mobile Hard disk is formattedin MS-DOS (FAT)

What Mac OS X version do you use?
Mac OS X 10.7 Lion was the first Mac OS X version to introduce folder merging, thus if you have an older Mac OS X version, you may need to do it by hand.
If you have Mac OS X 10.7 Lion or later, then there might be other problems.

I have downloaded the app and exactly the same problem exists.

Any more assistance appreciated anyone ??

As I don't use that application, I can't assist you.

Maybe edit your thread title to Merging folders in 10.6, problem with moveAddict to attract a proper and more knowledgable audience, and to do so just click on the

button on the bottom right of your original post and then click the
MR_Edit_GoAdvanced_button.png
button below your message.
