I currently have 2x512 in my core duo 1.83 mini (MA608LL/A). since 3gb is the limit, can i just buy one stick of 2gb ram and keep the 512 in the other slot, giving a total of 2.5gb? I see the advice in the "buying ram" guide here on macrumors, but I just want to make sure....it says it will work just run slower. Would I even notice?

Does anyone here have a mini they use with a non matched pair of ram, and if so does it work for you or not?

Personally, I always upgrade with a matched pair as it reduces the amount of problems.

However, sticking a 2gb stick in should work.
