when I was upgrading my RAM on my MBP, a screw was stuck, so I took it into an apple store. the genius spent 20 minutes in the back and got the screw out, but the bottom case was damaged (he had to use power tools). he offered to send in the MBP for a RAM door + bottom case replacement, and I agreed.

the MBP arrived today at the repair facility (per apple's repair status site), but the status doesn't read Repair In Progress anymore... instead it says: On hold- Part on order

does anyone know how long it takes for them to get a part in- specifically a core duo MBP bottom case? how do they not keep them in stock? is it because they have mostly core 2 duo (aka firewire 800 also) bottoms? I'm worried this will delay the repair by a long time... any thoughts? thanks!
