Hi all,

is there a reason that my old Core Duo MBP won't play 1080p video recorded on an iPhone 4S?

I suspect that the MBP may be just too old and knackered to play these files, but can anyone confirm please?

MBP specs as follows:
1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo
2 GB 667 MHz RAM
Mac OS X 10.6.8
ATI Radeon X1600 VRAM (Total) 128 MB

Thanks,

Jeez what is that, like the stone-age original MacBook?

A Rev 1.1, the same one I happily owned for 6 years and is still running fine. I know some of you people thought that MBPs came out in 2010 when you bought it, but not really the case.

No, a Core Duo won't work. It's just not fast enough.

Cheers chrfr, that confirms what I thought.

And Dangerous Theory, yes, these were the original MacBook Pro from as far back as May 2006!! Wow!! Were you even born then??!! Sadly this doesn't play 1080p video, but it still does everything else that I need it to. It is steam-powered in comparison with the current ones, but sadly I don't have £2,000 lying about!!
