My Canon camera, the EOS R5, has an HDR-PQ feature which will shoot HDR photos directly to HEIF format. This overcomes the limited dynamic range of the JPEG format. Otherwise, when we have a scene with both bright and dark areas, we take a three to five shot photo which gets stitched into one, and that means tripod, etc. Or we can shoot RAW, and edit it afterwards.
So… HDR-PQ could be GREAT for better photos straight out of the camera. I have a 14” MacBook Pro and an external 4K LG display, but I don’t know how to enable proper HDR-PQ display. Any pointers?
