I just removed the back plate to my Macbook Pro and I immediately noticed what's in the attached picture. The picture doesn't show it well but the darker section of the gold contact plates in the center is what I'm referring to. Is this indeed corrosion or something equally as bad?

Hahaha sorry I had no idea what to call it, and I was in a hurry to post this.
 
Corrosion looks more green than dark gold. You're fine. I work tech support at school, and a girl brought in a MBP the other day that had tea spilled on it a while back. I popped off the bottom cover and the whole left side of the board was a dull greenish hue instead of the shiny gold-color you see.
