Corrupt iTunes back - Can't Restore

I made the fatal error of installing the iOS 8 GM by choosing restore instead of update....

I've been trying to restore my back up but I keep getting the error attached below.

What is the easiest way to fix this to restore my data?

I've also successfully downgraded back to iOS 7.1.2.

The only tool I know of to deal with the corrupt backups is Decipher Backup Repair. I haven't tried it, but I used some of their other tools and those all worked ok, which is promising
