Hi there,

Every time i access "System Preferences" -> "Desktop & Screensaver" the system preferences panel crashes and exits.

Every time my screensaver starts the screen just starts fading to black and back over and over and over and over. (The screensaver i use/used is the standard mac screensaver).

It seems like theese files have been corrupted, (!?) So I have a few questions I would love to get some answers on.

- Any permanent fix on this issue?

- Can I set my screensaver / desktop background using the terminal or something like that ? I really want to be abel to set Desktop & Screensaver preferences, so any way I can do this with terminal would be appreciated !

Thanks a lot,
Can

Late edit:
This is what it says in the Console after it crashes:
9/22/08 2:52:02 PM com.apple.launchd[72] ([0x0-0x696696].com.apple.systempreferences[4201]) Exited abnormally: Bus error

The folder is empty and I have never downloaded any third party screensavers

I am still looking for some help on this matter.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

I may add that this is what it says in the Console:
9/22/08 2:52:02 PM com.apple.launchd[72] ([0x0-0x696696].com.apple.systempreferences[4201]) Exited abnormally: Bus error
