Corrupt USB Flash drive - "The Disk you inserted was not readable by the computer"

Hey all, I made the dumb mistake a few weeks ago by pulling out my Lexar 4GB flash drive while I was copying a file onto it, now I'm getting the "The Disk you inserted was not readable by the computer" error whenever I put it into my Macbook Pro. I have tried fixing it with disk utility, but the "repair disk" option is greyed out when I select it. I have also installed DiskWarrior, but DiskWarrior doesn't find my USB as one of the selections.

I'm kinda starting to stress out because I have heaps of un-backed up homework on there that is due soon, so please let me know if you can help!

Before you give up on the flashdrive, try this (follow steps in exact order).

1. Shut down the Mac -- power completely off

2. Insert flashdrive into USB port

3. Press power-on button.

4. Wait.

When the Mac boots, is it able to find the damaged flashdrive and repair it before the finder launches?

Just tried this, didn't work. Oh well, thanks for your help everyone. I've learned my lesson this time! Time to redo a heap of homework! Haha
