I just got this a couple of weeks ago but it happened again today for no reason whatsoever.

Any ideas what's going on?

It looks like maybe the GPU having issues. If its occurring somewhat regularly, then take it back and get it replaced.

Try and see if there is an updated driver for your GPU. I have seen simular when the wrong driver was installed on one of my desktops. It is a long shot and could very well be your GPU is crapping out.

If you can, see if you can downgrade to Mavericks, their are reports of Yosemite causing some issues like this, but not the on scale that you show - but it can't hurt to try

It doesn't occur regularly, I would say 1-2 times every month?

It's a 2010 MacBook Air and although I did have Apple Care, warranty is off atm and I wouldn't say I am eligible for a replacement unfortunately.

I'm running Snow Leopard.

Thanks for the input!
