Corrupted iPhone Photos Library

After an interrupted sync, my Photo Events on iPhone are all messed up. If I delete all the photos using iTunes, the phone will still show it's using 12GB for photos (although they're not there) and the iPhone then starts "restoring" the Photos, but the events then show up completely wrong!
