This started happening after upgrading to Ventura. Anyone else having this issue? Many video thumbnails in Finder are normal, but many look like this:

However, the videos themselves play just fine. They aren't corrupted like the thumbnail seems to indicate. Restarting doesn't fix nor does running OnyX default maintenance tasks.

Do you have another copy from backup you can restore and check md5s for integrity? I’m sure you are correct that there’s nothing wrong with the actual files but as someone who’s a little more paranoid I’d want to be sure.

I guess I could (I back up everything) but I'm not concerned about that. Let me know if you discover any similar thumbnails and what you find out if you do check the file hashes. For me, it's more of an annoyances that they don't display correctly. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to which file thumbnails display this way. The ones in my screenshot were literally just created from the Screenshot app. Yet I made another screen recording after those and the thumbnail was fine 🤷🏼‍♂️ Others that look that way are from old videos, yet many other old videos don't have that issue.

So far by just doing a spot check of a dozen or so file thumbnails I don't see it. I'll let you know if I do.

I just scrolled through a few hundred videos and about half of them are like this. I know for a fact that they weren't like that pre-Ventura.
