First off, is the iPhone available? Second, is it better to get it at Apple or AT&T? Third, I can't find monthly pricing anywhere. How much does it cost to own an iPhone?

yes iPhone is available...you gotta stand in line though...apple store is better than AT&T store, and if your on family plan the 3G iPhone costs 30$ i think, and if your not i think its 110$ thats w/o txts or anything..

I own the 1st Gen iPhone with the "$59.99/mo" plan. I actually pay around $75/mo after fees. From what I understand to have the same thing for 3G iPhone it is $74.99/mo before fees (for voice+data+200 txt). So final price in the high 80's low 90's after fees? Plus the cost of the actual device.

Sadly mistaken, its under that with unlimited texting, the real answer on how much it costs is dependent on what plan he wants to purchase.
