Bear with me here... I just got a new Sony RX100 iii compact camera that shoots AVCHD video but for some reason the boffins at Sony have decided to bury the video files so deep within an obscure folder structure that it's a pain in the ass to access and extract the files after every shoot.
Basically, to access one of the AVCHD format video files (let's call it 'myvideo.MTS'), I have to browse to MemoryCard > private > AVCHD > BDMV > STREAM > myvideo.MTS. This extended file structure is made all the more difficult by the fact that OS X views the folders 'AVCHD' and 'BDMV' as packages, meaning that for each of those steps, I have to right-click and do 'view package contents'. This is really slowing me down every time, so I'm wondering if there's an easy way via a script of some sort that I could just insert my memory card, click one button or icon (like a script I could drag onto my Finder toolbar) and have it open the related folder?
I initially thought of an Automator action that would just cut/copy the files I needed out of the folder, but this doesn't give me much options because I might, for instance, have several days' footage on the memory card and only want one day's footage.
Anybody got any ideas??
