Could Apple make the the Iphone 3.5" with a 16:9 screen and much thinner?

Would people prefer a smaller device like the Ipod touch if it was an iphone?

Personally, I don't even feel 4" is enough of an upgrade. That's a mere .5 (half an inch) difference from what it is now.

No, it's easy to see that it would get too narrow if the same ppi would be maintained. So, bad idea. Personally, I like that 640x1136 concept that's leaking around.
