So just got my 4S in white and wanted to sport a black Bumper, and while I doubt it I was just curious could the "black" rub off onto the white plastic edge and discolor the phone?

If you grab a fairly good one,as i have, you will be fine. Black looks the bomb on the white ip4/s

What "white plastic edge?" Both sides of the phone are glass painted white on the side you can't touch. Unless you pop the case, you can't affect that paint, and the glass you can just wipe clean with a little rubbing alcohol.

The sides of the 4 and 4S (not front and back) have a plastic boarder running around the phone between the glass and the antenna. I believe that is what the OP is referring to.

On the white iPhone 4 or 4S, you know the white border around the screen? Does that ever discolor over time?

Hopefully someone with a launch day white 4 can answer.

Yes, this is what I'm talking about anybody?

I have a white 4s and black apple bumper and no it does not affect the white plastic border at all.

If u sport a naked white iPhone, u will get dirt between the glass and the white plastic border. Cool thing about the bumper is that it covers that tiny gap and keeps it clean.
