Given that Tahoe introduces the ability to change app icons on the fly (dark mode, transparent mode, colored mode), I wonder if it will be possible to inject custom app icons into the dock?

Since it seems like the Dock is rendering the icons on-the-fly, maybe it's possible to do some sort of XtraFinder-like injection and set custom icons for everything?

A new Candybar would be a dream.. I still use it as my icon organiser on Sequoia and is still rocking though can't change icons anylonger... any app or way to change system icons in Mac OS 26? I tend to hate standard Apple folders and I always change them to my liking in color and design.. I am afraid Tahoe is going to shatter my customisation needs and then I will stay away for now!

you can customize all the folders with the OS. and you can do the old 'cut&paste into info window' thing. AND there's apps like plaster (works still!).

OS icons have been locked for a long time, not a tahoe-specific thing
