i want to format my computer clean for a fresh start but i have some apps i don't have the installers to.
could i format my mac enter time machine and retrieve those apps only?

if not is there anyway i could save the apps to my external without the installers?

You can choose to restore the Applications folder via the Setup or Migration Assistant, and if you have to restore the complete Applications folder, you can later uninstall the applications you don't want anymore.
Btw, what applications are you talking about?
