If you do it carefully, no problem. There are sudden motion sensors that will lock the HD to prevent damage if you move it roughly.

Move it dude, just don't do aggressive movements, do it smoothly and it's ok

I do it all the time. I've even tossed my Mac onto my bed when it's on; still works.

Just don't try listening to music on your MBP while you're walking with it in your backpack. The SMS kicks in, and the music skips pretty bad. Although it could be just how I walk.

Get a SSD and that problem will disappear. :D

just installed one :D The thing is incredible! Just waiting for my 8GB RAM kit to arrive tomorrow and I'll be all set for the next few years. Maybe next year I'll upgrade to 512 SSD if they fall into the $500 range...

haha yup I have tossed it onto my bed on several occasions.... I have stop since the last time I tossed it on my bed, it bounced off and one the floor :) Not a single dent or scratch in it. Obviously not a smart move but the point I am making is they are pretty rugged and can take a fair amount of abuse.
