alright l, well this is my point, I currently have a 8 gb iPhone. My question is if I were to buy a 16 gb iPhone, couldnt I simply just change my sim card to the 16 gb and have it work? i am on att service

You still have to activate the phone through iTunes, however it will not extend your contract beyond the original contract.

I'm assuming you are not on AT&T?

I'm assuming you have to re-unlock it...

as far as being on AT&T, everything is synced with your computer anyways, there really isn't anything you would have to change.
