I have Dock autohide turned off, but when I move the mouse to the bottom of another monitor it shows the dock there, and hides it from the main. The response of this happening is so slow (on an M4 Pro Mini atm, can sometimes take almost a second for the dock to disappear from the other monitor and show back up on main) that it's infuriating - and I don't want this behaviour at all in the first place.

Any ideas? Thanks

I have dual monitors and noticed if you position the dock to the left or right it only shows up on one monitor regardless if hidden or not. Maybe that helps?

Additionally, there are terminal commands that can speed up the time it takes the dock to hide/unhide.

I inserted the qualifier at the end as I don't want the hide behaviour at all in the first place. Hence, you know, turning off the control that auto hides the dock.

And I definitely don't want the dock on the sides.

Turn off System Settings > Desktop & Dock > Displays have separate Spaces. With that off, I don't run into the problem any more.

Aaaaaaaah tyty
Makes sense. I've never really bothered with Spaces so didn't think there would be anything affecting me.

Update: Same thing still happens from time to time. I don't know what sets it off.
