Is this true? Has anybody have to put down a deposite when they did the reservation thing on Apple.com? I wanted to purchase.....but I dont remember seeing an option to do so. Any help

If you're a new customer (or maybe even adding a new line?) you're required to have a credit check run. Depending on how it turns out you may need a $250-750 security deposit. If your credit is good you have nothing to worry about.
Yup....I have a $250 deposite.......why doesnt apple let me order the phone? I have the funds available.
