From when the MBP 15 Retina was released to the present, what have been the updates to the model? Also, which of these updates are the most relevant?

Looks like there isn't many differences between the 15s.

Looks like there isn't many differences between the 15s.

The models from early 2013 and prior had 3rd generation i7 processors and SATA SSDs. The late 2013 and newer models have 4th generation i7 processors and PCIe SSDs. There have been GPU and battery improvements along the way as well.

Were you expecting huge improvements? These days upgrades are very incremental, just a few percentage points faster each year.
