Hi. I am creating a bootable flash drive of Tiger to repair my system without a CD or DVD drive, and I need a few files to finish the install.

In /System/Library/CoreServices:
Setup Assistant

In /Library/Receipts:
BaseSystem.pkg and Essentials.pkg

Thank you!

The receipts won't really help you much for installing, unless you have the original installation packages. Also, I don't know if it's even possible to boot a Mac OS installer from a USB drive. I think PowerPC Macs don't support USB boot at all, though I could be wrong.

I do have the originals. I need those so the OS can verify they were "installed". Also, a simple google search will bring up the tutorial. The Mac I am booting this with is an Intel by the way.

What a shame, I only have Tiger files for a PowerPC Mac. Oh well.

You shouldn't need the receipts though - the installer is supposed to generate them for you.

EDIT: I must add that, since there never were any non-Mac specific install disks for Intel Tiger, you're going to have to specify which Mac model and which specific version of Tiger (10.4.X - what is needed is the X) the files should come from. That way, if someone does have these files, they can make sure you get the right versions.

Well, its like an installed copy. I plug it in, and it'll boot to the desktop first boot.
Are you sure yours wont work? You dont have a universal copy of Tiger?

Tiger is NOT Universal. It was only ever distributed in PowerPC-specific and Intel-specific builds.
