Hey, I was just wondering if someone would be willing to check for some of these features in ios 12?

Thank you!

1. I don't like the outgoing message 'swoosh'. Currently, the only way to disable this is to put the phone in silent, or set the Text Sound to 'None', but, that disables incoming notifications also. Is there a fix to this in ios 12?

2. Can I turn the screen off during a call without having to use the proximity sensor? That is, I would like the display off while not holding it to my ear.

3. Can I turn off Bluetooth completely from the shortcut menu?

4. Is there any update to the keyboard that adds a numeric row without having to go to the numbers screen?

Thank you!

1. No way to change the sound.

2. No, turning off the screen still ends the call on iOS 12.

3. No. The reason for this behavior is that Bluetooth is used for more than simple device connections. Why do you want to disable it completely?

4. Not to the Apple keyboard, no. Third party options are plentiful.

Thanks for the answers.

3. I only use it in my car twice a day. I don't need it for anything else, so I would prefer to turn it on and off as needed. I liked how it was in the old shortcut menu.

I see. The battery usage is negligent if it's not being used so personally I would just leave it. More trouble than it's worth turning it on and off.

I agree with this.

Not to say "no, do it our way!" If you really have a compelling reason to turn it off, then go for it, but otherwise there's no reason to go through the effort.

On the point about battery usage, I do also notice that the 11.4 battery life hasn't been stellar for me. That is one of the reasons I'm cutting down on background activity and unneeded services.

I appreciate the answers, thank you.

1. It would be nice if they separated the new message and sent message sounds, like they do for email, but unfortunately it seems like that's not something that is happening.

2. You can turn the display off if you are using speakerphone, headphones, or a Bluetooth headset/speaker. Otherwise if you are just using it at your ear then the proximity sensor will turn the screen off.

Realistically, with that kind of use, just turning it off from control center, even with the new behavior should be enough, unless there's really something specific that happens that really basically requires you to have it fully off.

For what it's worth, I also saw a hit on my battery with 11.4. 12 has been much better.

Don’t believe so.

That’s been a think from my knowledge.

No.

Don’t think so. On the iPad you can sorta do it tho.

Battery life has been pretty good for me.

I do not think there is any change but do not have iOS 12. Only way to turn screen off is put thumb on proximity sensor, put phone screen down on table or to pocket. In case you you handsfree or speakerphone it can not be turned at all. That sucks.
The screen can definitely be turned off when you are on speakerphone or using it hands-free in some other way.

You've always (? well, at least for years and years) been able to do this.
