I have on order a new macbook,a 320gb drive and 4gb ram.

When I remove the HD from the new macbook would it be ok to fit it into my older macbook(running on tiger) which I am giving to my partner?

Can anyone foresee any problems? Just checking I won't be breaking any software licenses or have missed anything stupid...

well the macbooks were updated on Nov. 1 to SR. im no exactly sure but it might not work it probably wont have support for that version of intels chip.

It's fine to swap the HD, but you'd be well served to at least Archive and Install OS X once you've placed it in the MB you're giving to your partner. Otherwise, flakiness might ensue.

The only reason I am asking is because after reinstalling the OS on the new hard drive in the new book,i was then going to fit the drive that I am upgrading into the older macbook,so the OS would be on 2 HD's..if you get my drift....
