in a nutshell itll connect through a 3.5mm (most likely) and its a receiver which obtains the media through your wifi network connected to your mac/pc and your iphone just acts as a remote to select music on your pc

kinda like the apple "remote" app it connects to your mac/pc and you can select music with your iphone/ipod its just this peripheral allows you to give that ability to any sound system within your house
