... actually an ARkit developer phone masked as a premium consumer phone?

We have rumors about enhanced cameras with depth sensing. We also have rumors about the $1500 price. For a consumer phone, it sounds like a lot. But the asking price is not too foreign for developer units (eg. Playstation dev units are priced higher than the consumer version).

Now we don't know for real until Apple announce it, but maybe Apple is trying to hit two birds with one stone. Deploy ARkit developer units while making a high end luxury phone. The target market will be luxury Apple fans and enterprises wanting to deploy am AR solution (and for them, those asking prices are not expensive)
