I've got an iPhone Xs Max since launch day and although I haven't faced this issue in a long time, it came back.

Basically, the tele lens makes all of my camera apps unresponsive and picture black. Sometimes the wide angle lens also shows nothing but black and freezes the whole app (stock camera app, third party apps also).

Nothing has helped for now. Restart, force closing apps, etc. I could possibly try factory reset but I have a lot of data and my backup will take more than 2 hours to save (+110GB backup).

Does someone know if this could be fixed within the software or it's a hardware malfunction? This issue is by far the most annoying one because there are times when I urgently need to take a photo and bam, none of my camera apps work. They just display a black photo and become unresponsive.

I did contact Apple on Twitter, and for now, they only offered me a phone support, whereas other times they would troubleshoot my phone first. This makes me think they would offer a replacement of my phone which I don't really want.
