Could this be a sign that the C2D Macbook/Macbooks Pro's wll be released next week?

I was doing some research online. Anyways, there were some rumors that the new Macbooks/Macbook Pro were already being manufactured with the Core 2 Duo chips but Apple was waiting for the new 10.4.8 update to release the Core 2 Duo machines.

Well I was searching through Amazon.com and it seems that both Macbook/Macbook Pros have an estimate ship of 3-4 days (which is always ships same day by Amazon)to ship, and every other company online have it in stock, even the ones that sell within Amazon.com.

Would that be a sign that the new Core 2 Duo Macbook/Macbook Pro might be coming this upcoming week(first week of October)?
 
Well, 10.4.8 is out and many of us have already upgraded (had to in order to get the Aperture 1.5 update). So I don't know if that means anything... I don't think anyone else knows (only Apple knows).

As for stock on Amazon, it doesn't mean anything either - it fluctuates. I thought we were close to C2D MBPs about a month ago when both the 17" and the 15.4" 2.16GHz models availability slipped to "out of stock -- usually ships in 1 to 2 weeks". However, it was back to shipping within 24 hours within a day or two. Also it is the weekend. A lot of products sold through Amazon will shift from 24 hours to ships in 2-3 days around the friday mark and then revert back in a couple days. So, availability on Amazon.com means little, if anything. Just this week, the white 2GHz Macbook said it was out of stock and not shipping for over a week. It was back in stock the very next day.

All I can say is see what happens next tuesday. Sooner or later, next tuesday will finally be "the day". ...Unless they release on a wednesday like the did with the iMac refresh - oh, lordy...

If you need a system, I guess you'll just have to buy one. If not, waiting never hurt. after all, the next update is only a few tuesdays away. LOL.
 
Give it the **** up. There's not going to be an update to the portables for a bit longer now. The 10.4.8 update meant nothing to the update of the portables, and it never will. Apple will release the software updates when they want to, not to coordinate with a product refresh or anything else.

Apple will never ever release an update of the portables. They're messing you around. In fact, Steve's in his office right now laughing at you all on here. :rolleyes:

About time someone got pissed off. These people just need to buy a portable now and deal with being obsolete when it happens.

no, to be honest, the people getting pissed are more obnoxious than the people who keep posting new merom threads. If you don't like the thread, don't click on it. :rolleyes:

I'm all for those who waited for the better one.
 
To be honest though other manufactors are selling core2 laptops right now so its a matter of time and supply for Apple. This aint the PPC days and Apple may be struggling with its own roadmaps to keep up with Intels relentless advancement. Those wait 1 yr for a tiny little itsy bitsy PPC bumb days are gone.
 
i go back to uni in the morning, i would like a new MBP.

but i am trying to hold of until the new one is out.*

I really hope for C2D MBP by end of OCT
 
hey guess what?

before the macbooks get updated to core2duo the macminis will be.

Now MBP... well that will happen soon im sure but I'm not going to be spending 2 grand on a notebook that will have outdated tech in a years time.

How would you even know that? They don't coordinate thier software updates with anything?! Do you realize how ridiclous that sounds?
 
Back on topic, I think that yes, it could be a sign. Then again, the expectation before was "any day now," and that remains the expectation. Hope those of you waiting get to see some Merom action soon. I'm guessing there is a reason Apple is delaying here. Perhaps getting the right 802.11n cards is taking a while?

You said the key word, RUMOR. There have been soooo many rumors about merom mbs and MBPs that have never materialized. EVERYONE PLZ JUZ ***** WAIT AND STOP MAKING THESE THREADS!!

The better thing to say would be do you know how ridiculous all of you rumor mongers sound like when anything that apple does gives you a reason to come here and pollute threads with garbage about a update that no one has any clue about when it will happen.

It's old already, its annoying and i think a lot of people are sick of seeing this moron stuff invading threads, and polluting the boards with new meaningless threads. Face it even when it does come out you will still complain.. get over it already, just sit back and wait till it comes out.

I'd have to say that starting speculative rumor threads about products being released is about a million times more interesting than complaining about people starting such threads. If these threads annoy you, why click on them? Just ignore them.

Because if we convince even 1 person to use the "search" feature the next time they feel inclined to start one of these threads, it saves us the trouble down the line.

Speculative rumor threads are interesting. The FIRST speculative rumor thread is interesting.
