Hello

I am wondering if this could be a video card problem or something else.
I am working on installing the OSX from scratch on new HD but this Macbook Pro is also showing me lines on screen (see picture attached).
Also, am wondering if the video card can be replaced if that is the problem. The model number is A1150.

Thank you for any kind of help I can get on this.

Could be video card, or a connecting cable. It isn't possible to replace the GPU in a macbook without replacing the whole motherboard.

Which MBP is it and when did you get it? Does it have the 8600M GT gfx card?

I believe his model has the radeon x1600.

Sorry OP but it looks like your machine may be hosed (and apple won't take care of it). How did you get the model number?

Hi,
thank you for your reply, yes it is the ATI video card, I wish it was the Geforce, then I could get it fixed free. Oh well
As for the model number, its inprinted on the back of the case, in very small letters, right above the battery.
