The seamless connection and setup process of AirPods and iPads/iPhones is great, and my AirPods are far better at staying connected to my iPhone/iPad than they are to my Mac as I walk away from those devices, even if they're all piled next to each other on my desk. Could we see W-series chips in Macs to bring this improved connectivity? Would Macs have to switch to ARM chips first in order for them to all work together?

Don't think the W chips have even been inside iPhones yet. They're only in the tiny devices (AirPods, Watch).

I think all iPhones/iPads/Macs use commodity bluetooth chips from Broadcom or whoever it is.
